Rolyn Daguil also gave an inspirational message where he expressed his gratitude for having them back in the University and highlighted his plans for them. “There will be a lot of plans for alumni; we wanted you to be part of our family here, and we want to transform alumni activity here in the university because you are not a stranger here, all of you are welcome to be back,” the University President, who is also married to a CEd alumnus, stated. Furthermore, Alumnus of the Year in Secondary Education, Glen B. Pacot, shared his inspiring story and highlighted one of the greatest lessons he learned throughout his journey. “If it is important to you, you don’t quit. You keep going no matter how hard it gets,” the lone graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Teaching Physics from batch 2007 said in his speech. Consequently, the Alumnus of the Year for Regional Achievement, Dr. Lorenzo O. Macasocol, shared how he overcame challenges as a student who was not financially stable. “I think my greatest accomplishment is anak ra ko ug usa ka mananagat nga di kabasa ug di kasulat. Anak ra ko ug isa ka nanay nga plain housewife unya graduate ko sa NORMISIST and I claim, for this record and for this time that I’m the only schools division superintendent who graduated from Caraga State University,” the first Magna cum laude in NORMISIST, now CSU, stated in his speech. Moreover, the Alumnus of the Year for International Achievement, Dr. Gracie Burdeos, also told her own inspiring story via Zoom and left a remarkable message to her fellow alumni and current education students. “To all education students and alumni here today, I encourage you to never lose sight to the tremendous impact you have in the world,” Dr. Burdeos stated. The formal event was followed by a fellowship dinner at the New Admin Building to close the alumni homecoming.
